Reno High School Volleyball

October 15, 2017

At the beginning of the school year Reno High School Volleyball Team dedicated their season to Katie Grace and the love they shared with her.  On the first night of opening season each girl on the team walked over to where I was sitting in the bleachers and presented me with a flower and a hug. I shared a thank you, I love you and hug back along with many tears of joy.  I am so grateful for the love they share with me about Katie and for always remembering her.  The team also revealed their volleyball socks with Katie’s initials on the back side.  So special for me K W. What an awesome tribute to their beloved teammate.

Step 2 Program

October 9, 2017

Katie Grace Foundation and Rayco Drywall Teamed Up to Remodel one of the cottages for the Step 2 program.  We joined Michael Fiotti and Chris York’s Team to remodel a two bedroom cottage.  With the help of several donors we made an adorable kids room complete with a mural of inspirational quotes from Katie’s scribed on the wall, a small picket fence with flowers and butterflies, a sunshine with the words you are my sunshine, an airplane and a banner trailing behind which shared the words of a family love and a chalk board wall with the words of Katie’s chalkboard wall “set your mind on things above.”  We also added a bunk bed and a small tent with a fluffy pillow bed, flashlight and one of Katie’s personnel reading book.  Throughout the house we made signs of inspiration with quotes of Keep Standing, Move Forward and Raise the Bar.  So many beautiful touches for kids to enjoy in their new place. There is even a picture framed area for kids to place their daily art projects on the wall. It was an honor to be apart of this project with so many giving and kind people. $1500.00

We had the pleasure of adopting the 15 children of the Step 2 program for the Christmas Holiday season. We provided  them with bikes, scooters, helmets, knee pads, basketballs, footballs, games, clothes and shoes totaling $957.00. We were also able to provide the kids with gifts to give their Moms which included a scarf, mittens and a flashlight.  $1000.00

Along with a generous donation from the Terry Lee Wells, Discovery Museum the Step 2 program was  provided  with 20 children passes and 20 adult passes to attend the Discovery Museum program.
